Chapter 2 help

Search For The Needle Chapter 2 Basement Walkthrough

Key, levers, three puzzles, and the escape route.

To escape the Basement, collect the key, pull the three cabled levers, and finish the crystal, picture, and keypad puzzles. Then equip the key and climb the ladder to the trapdoor. Finding the key alone does not finish the chapter. This sequence follows the PGG and TechWiser illustrated reports.

This guide starts inside Chapter 2. It covers the layout with a haystack key, colored floor cables, and a three-puzzle room, as documented in illustrated guides published or updated September 9–10. Entry requirements are not established here; a chapter place link does not prove that it is unlocked for every account.

Find the key without confusing it with the puzzle counter

Search the Basement haystack for the key and collect it when you uncover it. Keep using the collection-and-selling loop while searching; do not treat the position in a screenshot as a guaranteed key spawn.

The objective panel separates finding the key, pulling the levers, and solving puzzles. The key is not one of the three puzzles. Likewise, completing the lever objective does not by itself advance the puzzle counter.

The route below is a practical checklist, not a tested fastest route or a claim that every task must be completed in this exact order.

Find all three levers by following their cables

Follow the colored wires on the floor to the corresponding lever. The colors below refer to the cables, not necessarily the handles: the published close-ups show red handles on differently cabled levers.

CableLandmark to check
GreenBehind the main haystack, near the boxes.
RedBehind the Sell Hay signboard by the selling area.
PurpleThe equipment corner around Upgrade Bag and Drone.

Interact with each lever and check the lever objective. Completing all three opens the hidden puzzle room. Do not mistake reaching a lever for having pulled it.

See the original lever photos at Pro Game Guides.

Solve the crystal puzzle from your room's counts

Look around the puzzle room's walls and ceiling. Count the red, purple, and green crystals separately, then set each matching pedestal's displayed number to that color's count.

Check the number shown, rather than copying a fixed number of clicks from another run. The large crystals on the pedestals identify the inputs; count the crystals around the room for the answers. Recheck higher wall and ceiling areas if a value does not register.

The reviewed reports describe changing crystal counts. They do not support a universal three-number answer or a rule that converts one crystal color into another. Source: TechWiser’s crystal instructions.

Rotate the picture tiles to match the reference

The picture board has 16 tiles. Click a tile to rotate it and compare the large black-and-white image with the smaller reference beside it. This is a rotation task, not an instruction to slide tiles into an empty square.

A useful checking approach is to align the outer circular lines first, then inspect the joins inside the image. This is an editorial solving tip, not a required game sequence. Leave correctly oriented pieces alone and compare the entire board before moving on. Source for the rotation mechanic: PGG’s picture instructions.

Find the keypad digits on a paper

Pick up and inspect the papers scattered across the puzzle-room floor until you find the four-digit clue. Enter those digits on the keypad.

Use the clue from your current run, not a number copied from a guide, wall example, or another player's screenshot. If an entry is rejected, compare the displayed digits with the paper again before trying another number. Source: TechWiser’s paper-code instructions.

ALIEN belongs to the separate reward-code topic, not this numeric puzzle. Check ALIEN reporting and redemption status.

Equip the key and leave through the trapdoor

After the three puzzles are solved, the documented sequence frees the alien and removes the lasers blocking the escape route. Check that the key objective is also complete, equip the key, and climb the ladder to the trapdoor.

Roblox's Finished Chapter 2! badge describes finding the key and escaping the basement. It does not specify an additional currency payout. Do not treat an ending scene as proof of the separate Find the UFO badge's acquisition requirements. Read the official badge descriptions.
